Rock-n-Roll Hall Of Fame Museum [ohio]

Going back to our trip to Ohio…we visited the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Museum and it was AWESOME! Just how awesome, you say? Well, here ya go…

IMG_3815Yep, that’s right – my name in LIGHTS! Dreams do come true.

Let’s start at the beginning, it takes an hour to get there from my sister’s house. We decided we would get up, eat and then depart. Whatever time that was, we were good with. (Man, I love vacation.) On our way we contemplated picking up Dunkin Donuts, but decided against it. (Another reason to love vacation, Dunkin Donuts!) The kids knew were we were going, but weren’t all that impressed. In fact, they were more concerned with who was sitting where in the car.IMG_0070Absolutely unenthused. Typical.

When we got there I was giddy. I mean, come on, THE Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Museum – it’s like Heaven to me. Here are some of the many utterly cool signs they have…

IMG_0096 IMG_0097 IMG_0124Our first goal was to get my sister signed up with a family pass. However, that was put on the back burner when we saw my sign. Tell me, how can I get one of these for my home? Gil won’t mind…

Since we had a bunch of young kids with us we weren’t able to watch any of the movies, but we were able to see some of the signatures they have lit up in a really, really, really LONG hallway…

After that we went through the whole museum. It’s really great and I highly recommend it if you are interested in this kind of thing. I loved it and wished we had more time to read all the facts/history/stories that went with all the memorabilia. Here are some of the highlights:

Please tell me I don’t need to explain this…

Many years of listening pleasure from this band. (not to mention rockin concerts)

While I was late to the party here (didn’t discover until I was almost out of high school) I still managed to have many years of love with all his music, too.

Even Hip Hop makes the grade in this cool place.

Even though the kids didn’t love it because they couldn’t understand the significance of most of it, they were troopers. We got some good pics inside and even more outside.

What album is that from?

I kinda like the back side of the museum better. Ok, not kinda, totally.

It was a long day, but didn’t feel like it. Have you ever noticed how that happens when you are having a great time? I would love to go back one day, but I’m very happy that I was able to go at all. It’s definitely a place that is right up my alley.

We headed home just in the nick of time, too. Right before rush hour! But I’m sure the kids wouldn’t have cared either way. They must have had fun right?
