Look Who’s 4 Months Old!

DSC_0942We have officially made it out of the weeds! Cecito has turned into such a great baby. We might be in the midst of the four month sleep regression that lasts until they are 18 months, but it’s worth it. He makes me feel such love, generosity, grace and humor. There are still days that I want to pull my hair out, but if I’m being honest, it’s because I have two to tend with.

Two children under three is no walk in the park. I hear it’s worth it and while I believe that it’s still crazy-making. < Mellie, see how I just stole that from you?

Cecito has slept through the night two times in his little life. Yay! Normally, tho, I’m up 2 times a night to feed him. This past month he’s gone back to sleep quickly, most of the time, so that’s a plus. We still swaddle him and boy does he need it. (The startle reflex is strong in this one.) There are still times he fights sleep despite being really tired. Poor guy. So I wouldn’t call him a good sleeper just yet.

He’s officially a smiley baby and that is the most fun part! I love it when I notice he’s trying to get my attention and his face lights up. Talk about melting your heart. There’s a reason babies are made so cute and that reason is sleep deprivation. You love them to pieces, no matter what. Even when your beautiful boy decides he’s going to poop with almost every single diaper he makes. I didn’t know this was a thing, but I guess it is…lucky us! There have even been nights I’ve sat there for 15 minutes waiting to make sure he’s done. (It’s really true that when you turn into a parent all you do is talk about sleep and poop.)

So, he’s also turning over BOTH ways! He can play in the jumper. He can pull your hair out, just ask his big sister how much she likes that. And I swear he’s teething! The kid can drool out of an outfit in minutes. When we go out I take several back up bibs and blankets. Thank goodness my mother-in-law got me a beautiful and HUGE new diaper bag to hold all this stuff!

Here are the stats:
Weight: 14 lbs 1/4 oz (21%)
Length: 24.5 inches (21%)
Head Circumference: 42.5 cm (76%)

Ladies and gentlemen, we have another one who needs to grow into their head. Which, in my book, means he’s just got a lotta smarts up there! His eye is also looking better. It’s not completely healed, since it’s still red or pink on the inside corner, but no swelling. So, he’s good. He’s our little trooper. I’m sure he will grow up to be a strong one. Especially after learning that he’s almost too strong for me to fight him…to put clothes on him, diaper change or getting into the car seat…if he doesn’t want to do it. How do we produce such head strong kiddos!?

Now onto the fun stuff! Pictures, enjoy. Here is a link to L.L.’s four month post. You will notice that I used a spoon for her’s so that’s what I did for this one, too!

  1. Gwen he is breathtakingly beautiful! So glad things are working better . It is a Challenge to have two under 3. However they will get easier at a certain point and together ( which will be a blessing) !
You both are doing a great job! You will never regret working so hard . Hardest job I ever had in my life and worth every minute!!! Xoxo

  2. Well now, his strong mindedness comes from his mom and dad. A friend told me that when you were a babe but she said it a little differently. love you
