Anyone ever wonder what happened to the handwritten note? Well, I have and it really seems to have died off, but we did manage to get two after we announced our little one was on the way. I must say they are some of the sweetest cards I have ever received. Not sure why babies do this to people, but man these are eloquent and lovely!
I have to admit that I don’t really send cards anymore, but there is a reason for it. No one keeps them anymore and I felt like I was wasting my time. If anyone out there knows me, you also know that I am a pack rat, so I keep all my cards. First they get put on display until the hubs tells me “do something with this,” before he tosses it. Then, they go in a pile so I can compare the address to what I have in my address book. Lastly, they find a home in a closet or box. My husband hates it, but I just can’t stand to throw out something so thoughtful. I’m not sure why I can’t just get over someone throwing out my thoughtful gesture and get back to sending cards all the time. But it might have something to do with the fact that I can’t seem to throw anything out.
So, thanks to all my family and friends who do send me cards. I truly appreciate them and love getting your notes.
It doesn’t get any better than this, really. These two are incredibly talented and creative, as seen by this amazing video of the birth of their first child. Between the background song, a mother who doesn’t know how to look bad, a dad that stays ultra calm, and the birth of a beautiful baby boy – this video has it all. I shed some tears and thought you might find this as wonderful as I did.
Josh Green is 1/2 of the photography duo Anika London. They shot our wedding and we can’t say enough about this phenom couple. All the best to them and their new bundle of joy!
Our first bit of baby stuff – aren’t they so cute! I have to say they are tiny, even thought they don’t look so little in this picture. Someone sure was happy to show them off. Can you tell there is already a “Team Dad” out there? 😉
If there is one thing that I have learned, it is to take all the fun you can get when you can get it – while also making baby. We started off testing out a new tavern (that only offered lemonade for those poor souls who cannot drink) and then I had a girls night of Just Dance that left me wanting to go out and buy the game!
So, if you are one of the types who is fearing of losing yourself in parenthood, worry no more b/c if I can wake up on a Saturday morning with a “hand on my stamp,” so can you! Who cares if you were home by 10 p.m. on the couch with your pup. You still got out there and had a great time with some pretty terrific friends.
Yep, that's ME!
It’s hard to believe it, but we are at 16 weeks! That’s 4 months for everyone that dislikes the “week speak” for pregnancies and babies. As you can tell from the photo I am just beginning to show. Of course, I feel huge each day and think I look bigger than I do when I look down at my middle area. Then, I see these photos and I realize it’s more about me feeling huge than looking huge, at this point. Guess it’s all in the process of making a little one.
We are just learning how to take these weekly pictures, so if anyone has tips we would love to hear them. This is as good as it got last night and we hope to get better ones as time goes on.

“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life…I think that what we’re really seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our innermost being and reality, so that we can actually feel the rapture of being alive.”
